A personal work system, shaped over time

Jay Rhee began LifeManager as a GTD-inspired tool for managing his own work. Each rewrite has preserved the belief that completed work should help with what comes next.

From LifeManager to ecoTask 3

First public release of LifeManager

LifeManager 2 with multilingual support

ecoTask3 desktop task and schedule workspace

  1. First public release of LifeManager

    The personal work system became publicly available for the first time.

  2. LifeManager 2 with multilingual support

    The second generation made the workflow available in more than one language.

  3. Rewrite begins as v0.90 Alpha

    Scheduled dates and due dates became separate parts of planning work.

  4. GTDLog2 To Do List

    The rewritten personal task system reached its next named generation.

  5. Renamed ecoTask My Job To Do

    The product adopted the ecoTask name and its personal-work identity.

  6. v2.0 with a redesigned database structure

    The second major version introduced a redesigned foundation for work records.

  7. v2.10, the final v2 release

    Version 2 reached its final release after years of continued refinement.

  8. ecoTask 3 for Windows and macOS

    The third major version brings the long-running work system to both desktop platforms.
